Previously known as The Fanconi Anemia Research Fund (FARF), The Fanconi Cancer Foundation (FCF) aims to harness hope through funding scientific research, advocacy, education, and support services for those affected by FA and associated cancers.
A Rebrand For Good
The world’s leading FA research organization changed its name to further focus on cancer research and partnered with RDG to rebrand as The Fanconi Cancer Foundation. RDG designed a new logo and outlined new brand standards. The rebrand pulled existing color palettes but updated them with clear guidelines on their use, creating a stronger visual language for organizing complex information. The brand style guide provides FCF with the ability to create continuity throughout all of their outgoing materials for patients, caregivers, medical professionals, and researchers. The new logo’s flower shape was designed to instill hope and life while referencing the complex DNA strands that mutate when FA is present.
Patient Materials & Impact Report
FCF as an organization has multiple audiences ranging from scientific researchers to families of children with FA. RDG designed new patient materials for newly diagnosed people with FA which combined a series of emails and documents into one easy and convenient place for support and educational resources. People with a recent FA diagnosis can be understandably overwhelmed.The new patient packet helps make navigating care and support resources more manageable. RDG also redesigned FCF’s Impact Report sharing important facts, figures, and financials. The xx-page document also includes patient stories and testimonials, scientific research findings, and details of breakthroughs being made globally in the fight against cancer and in association, FA.
A New Website For A New Era
RDG conducted an audit of the previous FCF website and identified a new structure to optimize SEO and make it easier and more efficient to navigate. The old site was weighed down with long menus of dropdowns and subpages, which were consolidated and reorganized to create a renewed user experience. Donation pages, medical information, and important historical documentation was restructured to make an enhanced user experience for patients and researchers alike.
Social Media Templates
From symposiums to patient testimonials and fundraising efforts, FCF’s social channels share a wide range of information. RDG created a rich gallery of social media templates that can be easily updated and shared according to content type. Built for Facebook, Instagram, and stories, the FCF social media templates pull in the refreshed brand look with an approachable and welcoming presence.
Apparel
Each year, FCF hosts a FA Family Retreat for people in the FA community to gain support and connection. Participants can attend presentations by researchers and physicians, and join support groups. RDG collaborated with FCF to create a custom illustrated t-shirt design which was first hand-drawn and then finished in a professional graphic design suite. The apparel design shares the message of We Are FAmily, enclosed in a heart shape, adding a lightness and humanistic element to the heavy topic many of these families face.
